About SkinCareRadar
SkinCareRadar is a public research monitor focused on skincare ingredients, skin concerns, routines, and devices. It automatically tracks newly published dermatology and cosmetic science research, then explains what the findings mean in plain language.
What we do
Every day, SkinCareRadar monitors scientific databases — primarily PubMed — for new publications about skincare ingredients (retinol, niacinamide, vitamin C, and many others), skin concerns (acne, hyperpigmentation, aging, etc.), and treatments.
Each new paper is summarized into three parts: a plain-language headline, a short summary of what the study found, and an explanation of why it matters. We also label the evidence stage clearly — from early lab work (in vitro) to gold-standard clinical trials and meta-analyses.
Every finding links back to its original published source. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend specific products. We explain research.
Evidence stages
Not all research is equal. We label each finding with its evidence stage so you can understand how much weight to give it:
- In VitroCell or tissue culture experiments. No human or animal data.
- Ex VivoSkin model or tissue experiments — not in living humans.
- Animal StudyResults in animals only. May or may not translate to humans.
- Small Human StudySmall or uncontrolled human study. Preliminary results.
- Controlled TrialControlled human study, often randomized. Stronger evidence.
- Systematic ReviewSummary and analysis of existing published studies.
- Meta-AnalysisStatistical pooling of results across multiple studies.
- GuidelineProfessional guidance from a dermatology or medical society.
